Recognise Feminine आ-stems in simple Sanskrit reading.

Translation Practice

  1. सीता वनं गच्छति।
    sītā vanaṃ gacchati.
  2. विद्या भयम् नाशयति।
    vidyā bhayam nāśayati.
  3. कथां विद्यार्थी पठति।
    kathāṃ vidyārthī paṭhati.
  4. गीतया ज्ञानं भवति।
    gītayā jñānaṃ bhavati.
Answer key
  1. Sītā goes to the forest.
  2. Learning destroys fear.
  3. The student reads a story.
  4. Through the Gītā, knowledge arises.

Read the noun and adjective together as a unit. Do not detach an adjective from the noun it describes.
