Week 4: The Shape of a Sanskrit Sentence
This week is designed as a 60-minute self-study lesson. Read aloud first, then translate.
Aim of the Week
Learn the basic shape of a Sanskrit sentence: find the verb, then identify who acts and what is affected.
Core Pattern
In Sanskrit, endings carry meaning. Word order is more flexible than English, so begin by finding the verb.

| Subject | Who does it? | रामः — Rāma |
| Object / destination | What? where to? | वनम् — forest |
