Reading Checklist

1. Read the sentence aloud.
2. Find the main verb.
3. Find the nominative subject.
4. Find object or destination in the accusative.
5. Mark other case roles: with/by, to/for, from, of, in/on/at.
6. Split obvious sandhi.
7. Break compounds only as much as needed.
8. Translate literally.
9. Write a smoother English version.
10. Re-read the Sanskrit after translating.
